Good to Know

Details for a Smooth Stay

  • Check-in is after 4:00 PM and checkout is before 10:00 AM. Self check-in is available with a keypad.

  • Maximum of 8 guests. Pets are welcome. No parties or events and no smoking.

    Quiet hours begin at 10:00 PM Sunday–Thursday and 11:00 PM Friday–Saturday. Please be considerate of our neighbors.

    Septic System: The home uses a well and septic system. Please only flush toilet paper and limit organic material put down the kitchen garbage disposal.

  • Serenity Sunrise overlooks Elk Lake but is not directly waterfront. Public lake access is approximately 300 feet from the property.

  • Boat trailer parking is available in the lower area of the property near the pole barn. The driveway to the house is not ideal for trailers, so please use the designated lower parking area. The pole barn itself is reserved for owner use.

    A public boat launch is approximately one mile away.

  • The fire pit is available for guest use when local conditions allow. Please check current Michigan DNR burn restrictions for Grand Traverse County, Whitewater Township before starting a fire.

    Grills and fire pits are not permitted on the deck.

  • Before checking out, please:

    • Gather used towels

    • Place trash in the designated bin

    • Load and start the dishwasher, if needed

    • Turn off lights and other items before leaving

  • Northern Michigan winters can bring changing road and driveway conditions. 4WD is recommended during the winter months. Please note that the driveway is steep, and while snow removal is provided, it may not be plowed immediately during active or changing weather conditions.
